Day 11 - June 26th

By Pieter van Vugt,

Another early morning for the study tour group. Breakfast was on time today and at 8:15 we were ready to leave for the David Florida Lab of the Canadian Space Agency.

Upon arriving there we all got V.I.P tags and we were lead to a large conference room, where we enjoyed two presentations. One on the lab itself, and one on the Combined Data acquisition and Control System for their largest vacuum chamber that is designed for testing satellites.

Day 10 - June 25th

By Arjen Meek

Our day started when we climbed out of our beds in the Monterey Inn at 7:00, or as our travel guide so strikingly put it: "Hit me, kick me, it's far too early". Shortly after we had the breakfast provided by the hotel which turned out to be somewhat of a disappointment as little more than a few unexciting muffins and some apples seemed to be available. We went on our way at 8:15 after tucking a few apples into our bags.

Day 9 - June 24th

By Mariella

The day begun as a clouded day at 8 o'clock with the wake up call from the lovely hotel in Ottawa. When everybody was dressed casual for the day of culture breakfast started. It was a breakfast as we know already for Canada; muffins, toast, croissants, cereals and coffee that was half as strong as in the Netherlands.

Day 8 - June 23th

By Bram Julsing

Today we left Toronto (just for a while) and drove to Ottawa, the capital of Canada. The road trip was 430 km long, so we drove for about five hours. While enjoying the surroundings of the x-lane highways (with 4 ? x ? 8) we listened to our fine sound broadcast by Henri-FM® (MP3 player or iPod with FM transmitter).

Day 6 - June 21th

By Danny Haak

After a long night of drinks in the local campusbar at the University of Waterloo, teaching the Canadians some Dutch dances and learning from differences between our cultures, it was – again – a very early wake up call, but with some nice perspectives: we were going to visit Paramount Canada’s Wonderland, a park full of thrill rides and spectacular events.

Day 5 - June 20th

Day 3 - June 18th

Maandag 18 juni

By Arnout Smeenge, translated by Joost Kuckartz

"It was seven o'clock getting up, right?". This was shouted through the sleeping hall. This scared me a bit, but luckily it really was 7 o'clock. Allright, getting up. A fast shower (which had to, there were only 3 showers for everybody), breakfast and into the vans for the first company visit of the study trip.

Day 2 - June 17th

By Mariella

The second day began early, very early. Although most of us went to sleep not too late, the majority was exhausted. The committee had a trip planned to the Niagara Falls after the breakfast. There were different opinions about the breakfast: participants that had toast were not satisfied (some of them got an additional breakfast at the subway), participants that had pancakes were quite pleased.
