Committee

From left to right Joost, Tom, Roderick, Martin and Tomas.
Roderick Colenbrander (Chairman)
Roderick was born on May 30th 1985 in Naarden. In 2003 he started his study Electrical Engineering at the University of Twente and right now he is doing his Master Microelectronics / Embedded systems. Next to his study he took part in the yearbook committee of Scintilla. In 2006 he joined the study trip committee as a chairman. He expects to learn a lot from organizing the trip and wants to have an unforgettable experience in Canada!
Tom van Hemert (Secretary)
22 years young, active climber and MSc student. I never took part in a Scintilla committee and because it occasionally is a good idea to expand your horizon I'm now the secretary of the study trip committee. I hope to learn a lot from this project and to make contacts in Canada.
Martin Westra (Treasurer)
A few years ago I organized the symposium 'Security on the Edge' of which I was the treasurer as well. In case of a study trip you are handling with a different amount of money compared to a symposium, but still it is just about decent accounting. I find it a great challenge to bring this project to a good end. Next to my study (end of BSc) and this committee I'm active at the row club and I have two jobs in the transport sector.
Joost Kuckartz (PR Officer)
I already have experience with big projects. I founded the Raedthuys Solar Team and was responsible for the solarcells of the vehicle, and partly for company contacts. Because of my involvement in the solarteam I was invited to the United States to work on the Vehicle Design Summit: a project where 50 international students design and build 4 energy efficient vehicles within only 8 weeks. Here I also was involved in the organisation and partly responsible for company contacts. My view is international and big, the study project Ohiariha is both. Typically something for me!
Tomas Jansen (PR Officer and Travel Coordinator)
After being treasurer and secretary in the board of Cabezota, handball, Tomas joined this committee at the last moment. Canada is a very interesting country in the area of technology, culture and sports. He hopes to plan all those interests in the trip and make it an unforgettable experience!

Next to this committee Tomas can be found on a sailing boat or playing (beach)handball, or when weather does not allow all this fun, writing his bachelor thesis at the Telecommunication Engineering group.
